maybe if sony took a little more time focusing on their GAME system instead of trying to push blu-ray they could have worked out the bugs/loopholes properly before the system shipped. i mean they had a year longer than their biggest next-gen competition.

well where can i get a ps3 without blu-ray? cuz i'm guessing it would be about $200 cheaper and I would love that. i'd buy a $300 ps3 for FF, GoW 3 and a few other "sony only" games as well as some older ps2 games i haven't played yet like okami, GoW 1 + 2, and shadow of the colossus. buy sadly the thing is, would i buy a $500 or $600 ...
i thought we were all talking about downloading here? so your point is well... pointless. i didn't know you played movies via multiplayer matches... i always thought in a digital distribution setting that you download then from the hosts servers using their bandwidth... i guess i am totally wrong. you sure pwned me.
as a side note i pay about $20 a year cuz i don't pay full retail, and yes i am happy to pay that because i enjoy features like unified friends list and chat across...
perhaps sony should have used a developer friendly cpu designed for gaming and not one that is as many devs are saying "horrible" to program for and designed primarily for number-crunching.

actually the toshiba dives were somewhat quieter,its the drive i have, the hitachi drives are the super craptastic loud ones. as for me i hardly notice it with the sound turned down, if the sound is at a normal game playing level i honestly do not hear it at all. now whisper quiet would be best for sure but unless you got a hitachi you really dont have anything to b!tch about.
they sure its just not that the dev kits have the quieter new drives? i mean the only way a software update can make a DVD drive quieter is by slowing it down which would mean a longer load time, and personally i will take my 360 just the way it is over a slower loading one, i never notice any noise from the thing as is when i have my surround sound on.
tell that to all the WoW players that pay like $10 a MONTH to play just that ONE game. with xbox live you can play ALL your games for $50 a YEAR and thats only if you pay full retail price (i got 3 years for $60 through a sale buy.com had) plus you get lots of extra features aside from just playing with your friends.
first of all sony does not even have the ability to match xbox live. (M$ spent billions upon billions creating the server farm that is the backbone of live and other M$ services) So even if they wanted to they would go bankrupt trying to provide a service like this (with decent data rates and stability) for free. i mean hell sony is already bleeding money out the a$$ on each ps3 it sells, they have taken out multi-million dollar loans, and they have had massive recalls. they just dont have th...
i got one as soon as they came out and i couldnt be happier, i can use it on my 360 AND on my computer. i'd like to see anyone find something out there for cheaper that can do the same thing. HD_DVD is FAR from dead. soon there will be $250 standalones on the market and then we will see what format the general public buys into.
great i say. stupid movie studios putting restrictions on stuff that i BUY. i should be able to do whatever i was with the media after i purchase it. if i want to rip it onto my computer and stream it to my x360 i should be able to. if i have a HDTV that DOESN'T have HDMI i should be able to watch any movie in full resolution regardless of it being an analog signal. if i want to rip a movie and put it on a portable player i should be able to if i BOUGHT the damn thing. i have well over 200 DV...

the 360 gpu is not 100% DX10 compatable, which isnt really that surprising since the 360 came out before DX10 was finalized, however it IS capable of MANY of the DX10 features, so many if not most of the things that could be done with a DX10 video card can also be done with the 360's GPU.
umm you are looking at the PS3 section's "Hottest Games" NOT the overall hottest if you were looking at the overall you would see that the top 3 spots are all 360 games and there are 6 games total for the 360 on there.

first off i am a 360 fan, (i have spent close to $1500 on the system and all kinds of extra stuff for it not counting my DLP set) but i do think this game blows. well maybe not blows but i can not get past the crap-tacular graphics enough to really get into the game. if they are gonna try to make it look like "you are playing a comic" they did a super crappy job of it, and yes i do play on a lovely 50" sammy DLP, so not playing in HD is not the problem. the only reason i am at ...
still doesn't change the fact that the wii is not next gen. in reality they could have just released a new controller for their gamecube to do the same exact thing how ever there is a bad stigma attached to the gamecube, it is viewed as a failure. so they released this "gamecube ver. 2" hardware wise there is very little that separates the wii from the gamecube. would you call a ps2 next gen if all they did was add motion control to a controller? no you wouldn't.
no, windows isnt coded for PowerPC chips. OSX maybe, but not windows.
